Features
- Winch was manufactured with a small drum core to allow maximum line storage onto a fairly small winch drum
- Winch comes equipped with precision machined special captured diamond screw level wind for precise spooling of the line (in a 'crosshatch pattern' to prevent the line from wedging while being hauled onto the drum)
- The 'captured' level wind carriage allows the winch to be mounted upside-down if necessary
- The load-holding automatic-set hydraulic brake assembly (stacked between the hydraulic motor and the winch frame) is capable of holding full loads and to set automatically and hold the load as the winch is being operated

Kolstrand Special Stainless Steel Winch with diamond screw level wind was designed for a customer who needed to use very small 3/16" diameter spectra line while hauling his 400 lbs. load, operating the winch in a very fast condition. And as the customer desired to use 'spectra' hi-strength rope, he needed a winch that would allow the line to spool quickly from side to side, to prevent 'wedging of the line' while being hauled.
