Product Description
The Kolstrand KRD drum shaft for the Model KR-D is made of 2" stress-proof steel that is turned, ground and polished. The shaft external splining on one end that fits directly into the internal splining of the driving gear in the KR-D Gearbox. The shaft goes through a lip seal in the KR-D Housing.
There is a 1/2" keyway cut into the shaft to lock it to the driving flange which is mounted onto the reel or drum. This keyway is approximately 8" long to allow for adjustment between the flange and the KR-D Gearbox.
The splined end of the shaft has a 5/8" NC Treaded extension. This is used to hold the shaft into the KR-D with a NY lock Locking nut. This nut is inserted and removed through an inspection port in the KR-D Gearbox.
KRD Drum Shaft manufactured by Kolstrand fits many gillnet and longline drums equipped with 2" drum flanges.
Standard drum shaft measures 2" diameter with 1/2 Inch keyway and is of 12" OAL - Call to place order - NOTE: Overall Length DOES NOT INCLUDE THE LENGTH of the 5/8" Threaded Extension!
The Kolstrand KRD drum shaft is splined on one end with an Integral 5/8 Inch threaded retention Stud (1 3/4 Inch long) to mate into the KEM KR-D Gearbox.
New 5/8 Inch locking nut is furnished with every Kolstrand KRD drum shaft, ready to install into your drum.
